Laura Capuano

RN, BSN,PMHNP-BC

With over 15 years of experience in behavioral health, I have supported individuals facing complex psychiatric conditions, life transitions, and deeply personal challenges. My work has included acute inpatient psychiatry, outpatient care, community-based services, and developmental and adolescent populations.

My experience spans the lifespan and includes work with adolescents, adults, individuals with developmental disabilities, and those navigating high-acuity mental health needs. These varied roles have given me a comprehensive understanding of the mental healthcare system — its strengths, its gaps, and the impact it has on the people within it.

Over time, I grew concerned about the limitations of traditional healthcare models. High patient volumes, brief appointments, and insurance-driven decisions can make it difficult to provide the thoughtful, individualized care people deserve. I founded this practice because I believe mental healthcare should feel collaborative, unhurried, and human.

My approach is rooted in empathy, clinical expertise, and evidence-based practice. I take time to understand the full picture — not just symptoms, but context, history, and goals — integrating traditional psychiatric treatment with complementary modalities when appropriate, always tailoring care to the individual.

This practice was created to offer a more intentional and transparent model of care. By operating outside of insurance networks, I can prioritize clinical judgment, accessibility, and continuity without the constraints that often interfere with meaningful therapeutic work.

Above all, my goal is to provide a space where individuals feel heard, respected, and supported as they move toward greater stability and well-being.

Care designed to feel human.
